Leadership Style
For the past 10 years I have served in some type of leadership capacity.
My roles have ranged from leading projects, to digital products and portfolios, acting as a UX practice leader and managing cross-functional teams of up to 30 people (UX, Visual Design, Research and Content). Outside of my career I mentor college students through my UWSP Alumni Advisory board, young professionals new to the field of UX and teens in the Twin Cities through local teen shelters and the Bolder Options program. It’s part of my DNA to help others and I gain a lot of personal growth and joy out of helping people grow into their best selves.
My Leadership Philosophy is that of a Servant Leader.
Servant Leadership is both a leadership philosophy and set of leadership practices. Traditional leadership generally involves the accumulation and exercise of power by one at the “top of the pyramid.” By comparison, the servant-leader shares power, puts the needs of others first and helps people develop and perform as highly as possible.
Your team is just as important, if not more, than the clients and partners you serve. When you help remove road blocks, make space for a creative culture and ensure people are getting the tools they need for success, the rest naturally occurs on its own.
Should we know each other?
Let's grab a cup of Caribou Coffee sometime.
